Pacific Monarch Resorts (PMR) is constantly striving to exceed our customer's expectations and seeks to provide excellent products and services, including respecting the concerns our customers have about their online privacy. Pacific Monarch Resorts collects information about our customers (both offline and online) so that we can provide an experience that is tailored to their membership. This privacy policy discloses how we collect, protect, use and share information gathered about you on our family of Web sites. Once you have registered with one of our Web sites, you will have access to all of our family of sites. Thus, this privacy policy is the same for all of the sites.
This statement contains numerous general and technical details about the steps we take to respect your privacy concerns. We hope that this disclosure will help increase your confidence in our sites and enhance your online experience.
Web Sites
The web sites owned or controlled by Pacific Monarch Resorts, including www.monarchgrandvacations.com, www.golasvegasnow.com, www.gopalmsprings.com, www.rivierabeachandspa.org, www.rivieraoaks.org, www.palmcanyonresort.org, www.rivierashores.org, www.tahoeseasonsresort.org, www.cedarbreakslodge.org, www.monarchgrand.com and www.cancunresort.org, may ask for and collect personally identifiable information in order to provide a customized experience.
Our customers are given the option to become Registered Online Customers. In order to become a Registered Online Customer, you will be asked to enter your membership number, e-mail address and other basic profile information. If customers choose not to supply the information, their ability to perform certain transactions may be affected. For example, not providing a membership number will prevent the display of information tailored to your ownership. Registered Online Customers will be assigned a login ID and password in order to perform certain transactions and viewing of customized information.
Browsing
We have not configured this Web site to collect any personally identifiable information from your computer when browsing this site. This means that, unless you log onto the secure area of the site, we will not know your name, e-mail address, or any other information identifiable to you.
Information We Collect
Like most standard Web site servers we use log files. This includes Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, pages browsed and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. This collected information is not linked to any personally identifiable information. We use tracking software called WebTrends to analyze user movement based on the information collected.
The information we collect is used to improve the content of our Web site, used to customize the content and/or layout of the Web site for individual customers, used to notify customers about updates to our Web site, and used by us to contact potential customers for marketing purposes.
Children's Privacy
This site is not intended for children and we do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children.
Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the customer's computer tied to information about the customer. We use session ID as well as permanent cookies. The session ID cookie simply terminates once a customer closes the browser. By setting a session cookie on our site, customers would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. If a customer rejects the cookie, they may still use our site. The only drawback to this is that the customer will be limited in some areas of our site. For example, the customer will not be able to view any customized membership information or be able to change or correct any personally identifiable information.
The permanent cookies are simply used for tracking page views through our WebTrends tracking software for analysis and statistical purposes and are not in any way connected to personally identifiable information.
MGV cookies cannot damage customer files, nor can they read information from the customer's hard drive. These cookies transmit no information about you or your computer back to PMR.
E-Mail Lists
We send all Registered Online Customers a welcoming e-mail immediately after completing the registration form. Established owners will occasionally receive information on products, services, or special promotions.
We do not want to send you e-mail that you do not want to receive. If you do not want to receive e-mail from us in the future, please let us know by sending an e-mail to privacy@monarchgrandvacations.com. Please be sure to send the e-mail from the address you wish to have deleted or if sending from a different e-mail address, be sure to include the e-mail address you want us to delete. Place the word UNSUBSCRIBE in the subject line of the e-mail.
Once a customer has opted out, they can choose to opt-in again by changing their profile online or by contacting us at (800) 828-4200.
Security
This Web site takes every precaution to protect our customer's information. When customers submit sensitive information via the Web site, their information is protected both online and offline.
When our registration form asks customers to enter sensitive information (such as membership number and password) that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry, Secured Socket Layer ("SSL"). Provided that you use a SSL enabled Internet browser such as the current versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator, your transmissions of personal information to us through them will be secure. You can verify whether the information that is transmitted is using SSL encryption by confirming the presence of a "closed lock" (for users of Microsoft Internet Explorer) or a "solid key" (for users of Netscape Navigator) symbol on the bottom bar of your browser window. To learn more about SSL, follow this link:
http://www.verisign.com/site/ssl.html.
You can also verify that your information will be encrypted using SSL encryption by making sure that the prefix for the web address listed for that page has changed from "http" to "https". For example, on our site you would see
"https://secure.pacificmonarch.com". After information reaches PMR, it is stored on a secure server that resides behind a firewall that is designed to block access from outside of the company.
While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect customer information offline. All of our customer's information, not just the sensitive information mentioned, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific task are granted access to personally identifiable information. Our computer systems are set to log off an employee's inactive workstation after a period of either 30 or 60 minutes. Employees are encouraged to use password-protected screen-savers when they leave their desk.
It is important to note that any e-mail communication to and from our site is not secure. This is a risk inherent in the use of e-mail. Please be aware of this when requesting information or sending information to us by e-mail. We recommend that you do not include any confidential information when using e-mail. For your protection, our e-mail responses to you will not include any confidential information.
Disclosure of Information to Third Parties
PMR prohibits the sale or transfer of personal information to entities outside of the Monarch family of companies for their use without your approval and giving you the option to opt-out.
PMR may share your personally identifiable information with affiliated companies that are directly or indirectly controlled by, or under common control of Pacific Monarch Resorts, Inc. For example, we use an outside shipping company to ship orders, and a credit card processing company to bill customers for goods and services. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.
Customer Records
If a customer's personally identifiable information changes (such as postal address, zip code, telephone or e-mail), we provide a way to correct or update that information. This can usually be done through the Owners Area of the Web site, by telephoning Owner Services at (800) 828-4200, or by sending an e-mail to privacy@monarchgrandvacations.com.
Occasionally, information that a customer requests to be removed will be retained in certain files in order to properly resolve disputes or to troubleshoot problems. In addition, information is never completely removed from our databases due to technical and legal constraints, including stored "back up" systems. Therefore, customers should not expect that all of their personally identifiable information will be completely removed from our databases in response to their requests.
Legal Issues
This is a United States Web site and is subject to the United States law. Pacific Monarch Resorts will disclose personal information without your permission when required by law, or in good faith belief that such action is necessary to investigate or protect against harmful activities to MGV guests, visitors, employees, or property (including this site), or to others.
Changes in Our Privacy Policy
In the future, we may need to change this Internet Privacy statement for Pacific Monarch Resorts. All changes will be made here so that you will always know what information we gather, how we might use that information and whether we will disclose it to anyone.
